- At home or the grocery store, have your 5th grader look at net weight values on food packages. Then ask them to convert the weight to a larger or smaller units.
- Have your 5th grader use a kitchen scale to weigh different objects and convert the mass to larger or smaller units.
- Talk about measuring capacity with ounces, cups, quarts, and gallons. Then use a measuring cup to measure our 1 quart and 1 gallon.
