5th grade Homework
5th graders will have homework Monday through Thursday evenings. Homework will consist of assignments that reinforce content learned in class, a fact packet, and a signed agenda. Please check your child’s work for completion and neatness. All work is to be done in pencil. Homework that is not completed properly will be redone on the student’s own time. Homework will be counted for a weekly grade. Each assignment is worth 1 point for a total of 5 points each week.
Nightly & Weekly Assignments
Math: Complete the one page worksheet consisting of a review of skills learned in class. All work must be shown on the worksheet or a stapled scratch paper. Homework without work shown will not be marked as complete. Students also have the option of completing 20 minutes of Khan Academy instead of the math worksheet. Due the following day.
Math Fact Packet: Complete EVERY item in the packet to prepare for the Friday test. Due Friday or last day of week.
Agenda: The agenda is used to aid home & school communication. Nightly homework will be entered into the agenda and signed by parents at night. I will also use the agenda to write notes home on an as needed basis. Parents may also want to use the agenda to communicate short notes with me. Parents must sign the agenda each night. Due the following day.
missing & Late homework
If your child does not turn in their nightly homework or fact packet, I will notify you in your child's agenda. Per district policy, late homework will be accepted for partial credit.
